Very cool, so fun to watch. I don’t really understand what you are doing in regards to flying the plane, how that part works and what Ollie and Bryn are doing. I guess because I can’t see any of you doing it and I am not a ‘guy’ smile Love mom

      Thanks mom!

To try and explain, I am flying the plane. Normally when you fly an R/C airplane you stand on the ground and watch the airplane from the outside as you fly it. With this setup I can fly the plane like I am actually inside of it. There is a video camera on the airplane which transmits the video down to a ground receiver. The ground receiver plugs into a pair of ‘video goggles’ that I wear that put the image right in front of my eyes. Ollie was standing next to me, ready to take the radio controller for the airplane in case the video failed for any reason, it’s hard to see a plane when you are wearing a set of video goggles 🙂 Bryn was making sure the antenna tracker unit was indeed following the airplane as I flew, as well as handling the video recorder which records exactly what I see in the goggles. The video he recorded is what you see on the YouTube videos and is my view when I was flying the plane. Hope that helps!

That looks like a ton of fun,but I have a few questions. Firstly, what are your plans next knife edges loops etc? Also what is the cbr in the top of the screen under the gps read out?

    Still a cool setup!

I don’t know what’s next yet. I’d like to try more aerobatic stuff and see what it’s like. I’ll have to keep a close eye on the altitude and have someone record the plane from the ground to see if I accurately reproduce the moves 😉 The CBR is climbrate. It seems to be a fairly grainy scale though in about 200-400fpm increments/decrements.
